TikTok, Shorts and Reels Clip Specs for Streamers (2026)
Updated October 19, 2026
One export can work on all three platforms if you use the right settings.
Shared settings
- Aspect ratio: 9:16 vertical
- Resolution: 1080×1920
- Format: MP4, H.264 video, AAC audio
- Frame rate: 30 or 60 fps (keep 60 for fast gameplay)
- Bitrate: about 8–12 Mbps, so it survives the platform's recompression
Length
YouTube counts vertical videos up to 3 minutes as Shorts. TikTok and Reels allow longer videos, but stream clips usually work best at 15–60 seconds. Limits change, so check each platform's help pages before posting longer clips.
Safe zones
Each app covers part of the screen with buttons, captions and your username, mostly along the bottom and right edge. Keep captions and faces in the middle area of the frame, not in the bottom few hundred pixels.
Layouts that work for streams
Stacked: facecam in the top third, gameplay below. Center crop: full-height gameplay cropped to the middle. Use stacked when your reaction is the point and center crop when the action is.
Rather not do it yourself? Clip Studio turns one stream VOD into 5 captioned vertical clips within 24 hours, and a human approves every clip. Monthly plans start at $79, or try one stream for $25. See plans
